A year earlier I was at a driving range hitting balls into nothing. Now I was standing on a course like this. Royal Ontario Golf Club, overcast, moody, sand traps everywhere, a pond sitting right where you do not want it. The sky looked like it was about to open up but we kept playing. Golf taught me that the conditions do not have to be perfect for you to show up.
