Morning decision

Collection of neatly rolled turbans in various colours including green maroon white pink navy teal and sage laid out on a dark fabric surface

Twenty turbans. One gets chosen every morning.

Laid them all out one afternoon just to see what the collection looked like. Every rolled up turban is a different day, a different version of how I want to show up. Green for grounded days. White for clean starts. Teal when I am feeling bold. People who do not wear a turban probably do not realize it is the most personal styling choice you make before you even leave the house. This is mine.

Corner

Narrow flatiron shaped brick building meets a street corner at dusk as a single bird passes overhead.

An old building holding down its corner while the day lets go.

I like buildings that were built to fit their street instead of flatten it. This one leans into the fork in the road like it has been listening to the same conversations for a hundred years. A bird cut across just as I looked up.
