I always try to book the sunset return. There is something about leaving Vancouver Island when the light is fading that makes the whole trip feel complete. The water goes flat, the sky turns this cold blue, and the ferry just sits there like it is in no hurry. I stood on the deck watching this and thought yeah, this is why I keep coming back to BC. Not for the arrival. For the ride home.
